I am a super nervous pregnant mom looking for every short cut and helpful hint that I can get to make it easier for me.  I know this website will come in handy too.  Any help?

This may not be a book but I came across this website article and I learned a lot.  I learned that your actions are very important, monkey see monkey do.  Read it here http://www.webmd.com/parenting/features/10-commandments-good-parenting

Read Dr. Spock but keep in mind the time it was written.  Its foundation is in common sense and the fact that when it comes to parenting, you know more than you think you do.

Make sure this is not your only reference, though, because some of his ideas have been contradicted by modern studies (e.g. he pomoted babies sleeping on their bellies, which is now known to increase the chance of SIDS)

Oh, and I agree with freestuffforme, the "What to Expect" series are great.
